How to get there: by plane

The most convenient airports for reaching Lake Garda are Valerio Catullo di Villafranca di Verona which is about 20 km from Peschiera del Garda, and Bergamo, Orio al Serio airport, 90 km away, using Peschiera as a reference point for calculating distance.

At Catullo di Villafranca airport there is a convenient shuttle service run by ATV (Azienda Trasporti Verona) that will take you to Lake Garda by bus, linea 164. Alternatively, you can take the bus to Verona Porta Nuova railway station and from there take the train to Peschiera.

How to get there: by train

The most convenient railway station to reach Garda Veneto is Peschiera del Garda, on the Milan-Venice line.

By bus, thanks to the ATV lines, you can arrive in the village of your choice. Otherwise, you can use the Verona Porta Nuova station, from where trains to Peschiera del Garda depart constantly, or direct buses to the various towns.

From the North:

A22 Brennero - Modena motorway

take the Rovereto Sud exit (Lago di Garda Nord)

take the regiolnal road SS249 in the direction of Mori, Torbole, Malcesine

(follow the signs for Garda).

From the South:

A22 Brennero - Modena motorway

Exit at Affi (Lake Garda South)

take the direction to Bardolino, Lazise, Garda and Malcesine.

From the West:

Motorway A4 Milan - Venice

Peschiera del Garda exit

direction SS249 towards Peschiera, Bardolino, Lazise, Garda and Malcesine.

How to get there: by bus

The various resorts in the Garda Veneto region can be easily reached by the out of town public bus, with tickets available from official ticket offices, tobacconists or some tourist information offices. From Verona Porta Nuova station there are buses to Garda running twice per hour (lines 163, 164 and 185).

During the summer these lines run more buses and connect Verona with Garda, passing through Peschiera del Garda, Lazise and Bardolino. From Garda, other lines continue to Brenzone sul Garda, Malcesine and Riva del Garda.

In addition, there are several lines that connect the hinterland of Lake Garda directly with the lakeside towns.

How to travel: by ferry

To get from one place to another or from one side of Lake Garda to the other, you can travel by ferry or motorboat, and for fast trips also by hydrofoil and catamaran.

On the route between Torri del Benaco and Maderno, and between Malcesine and Limone, you can also take your car, motorbike or bicycle with you using almost all means of transport.

How to get there: by cable car

The cable car Malcesine Monte Baldo is open only on weekend (saturdays and sundays) with the following hours:

  • Malcesine ticket office opens at 8:30 a.m.

  • For the ascent from Malcesine station, rides begin at 09:00 and continue at regular intervals, every 30 minutes

  • For the descent from Monte Baldo station, rides begin at 09:15 and continue at regular intervals, every 30 minutes, until 16:45
