Once known as ‘Arilica’, Peschiera del Garda is today one of the most fascinating towns on the southern shore of the lake. 

Recognized as a ‘Gem of Italy’, it vaunts two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the star-shaped Venetian walls — spectacular fortifications immersed in the Mincio Valley — and the prehistoric pile-dwelling sites. This dual record makes it unique in the landscape around Lake Garda. Peschiera is also the ideal starting point for exploring the lake. With its ports and outfitted beaches, it is perfect for both relaxing and active holidays, even in the company of your four-legged friends. The inland area offers food and wine tours that stop at wineries, agritourism farms, and typical trattorias. A must-see is the Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino, an architectural wonder imbued with spirituality.
