Cà Montagna Palace

The oldest iconic palace in San Zeno di Montagna

Palazzo Cà Montagna is the oldest and most magnificent palace in San Zeno di Montagna. Associated with the Montagna family, the original structure of the palace was built between the 13th and 14th centuries, before being modified in the first decades of the 15th century at the behest of the family itself.

A characteristic feature of the palace are the marvellous frescoes, particularly visible in the salon and the large hall overlooking the lake. In the former, Saint Christopher, the Madonna enthroned with Child and Saints Anthony and Zeno are depicted. In the large hall, on the other hand, in addition to the four-part motifs, it is possible to catch a glimpse of the figures of Christ Blessing and an Ecce Homo in front of a cross.

Today the palace is home to the council chamber, the town library, as well as a venue for cultural events including theatre and music performances.
