Traditional festival that marks the end of the alpine pasture. In fact, after the summer spent on Mount Baldo, the herdsmen descend for the winter season, and to sanction this transition there is the fair of San Michel.
The feast of Madonna del Castagnar is centred around a chestnut tree, in which a niche has been carved and a statue of the Madonna inserted, around which people gather on August 15 to celebrate the mass. This event originates from the popular tradition that a holy picture of the Madonna was found near the tree and now has become part of the popular culture.

The route starts from the Canevoi district, crosses the Sperane pine forest and arrives at the village Lumini. From here we take the path that leads to the top of Monte Belpo from where it is possible to admire the south Lake Garda and the Po Valley, and then descend to the starting point via Dosso Croce.
The asphalt route is about 12.5 km long and allows you to explore the small neighbourhoods of the village. An easy and scenic loop can be recommended for any time of year.
The route starts from the Contrada Laguna and crosses the Contrada La Ca’ where the Tenuta Cervi is now located. The walk is mostly flat with a few inclines that make the route more challenging when you leave the dirt road for the mule track.
A small parish church
The Church of San Zeno di Montagna, designed by architect Alessandro Paduzzi, is built on an earlier chapel dating back to Romanesque times and dedicated to San Zeno. The current version of the small parish church has a neo-classical façade and the interior is structured around a single nave. The characteristic element of the church is the bell tower, clad in red, culminating in a dome.

The long dry stone wall in the natural centre of San Zeno
The ‘Chinese Wall’ of Baldo is a long dry stone wall located in a panoramic area offering a wonderful view of Lake Garda. Built to protect and confine cattle from ravines, today it is a place where, between April and June, it is possible to admire the awakening of nature.
